A native of St. Pauls, Tyler attended Campbell University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in government and a Master of Divinity with a concentration in preaching and pastoral care. From 2013 to 2024, he served as the Associate Pastor of Missions and Adults at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh. Since 2015, he’s been married to the Rev. Louisa Ward who serves as the Dean of Spiritual Life and Campus Minister at Campbell University. They have one daughter, Ivy. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys cutting grass, cooking, all things Johnny Cash, and taking frequent trips to Sunset Beach and White Lake.

Originally from Richmond, VA, Sara Williams with her husband Mark moved to Johnston County, NC in 2003. Sara holds an undergraduate degree from Meredith College in Social Work and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from East Carolina University. She is currently working to finish her Masters of Divinity from The Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond. Sara has worked in various positions serving children and families through her work with Social Services, YMCA, and Johnston County Schools. Sara and her husband Mark most recently served as missionaries to South Africa through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. They have two children, Elijah and Hannah.

Angela Jones attended Johnston Community College and UNC School of Banking. She worked in banking for 12 years prior to coming to First Baptist. She and her husband, Bo, have four children and 2 grandchildren. Angela has worked for the church for the past 15 years. She also teaches Sunday school, Children’s Church and children’s Bible classes.

Mary Sue Godwin is a graduate of Peace and Meredith College where she double majored in music and sociology. She and her husband, Locke, are lifetime members of First Baptist Church. They have three children and two grandchildren. Mary Sue has served as accompanist for the past 30 years.
