Dr. Andrew Wakefield - Interim Pastor
Dr. Andrew Wakefield was named Dean of Campbell University Divinity School in July 2010 and continues in that position. Dean Wakefield also teaches New Testament Greek, New Testament survey courses, and courses on the writings of the New Testament. He has served as an interim pastor, preacher, and guest teacher in North Carolina Baptist churches. Dean Wakefield’s hobbies include woodworking, computers, fishing, metalworking, and cooking. He and his wife, Olivia, have two children.
Sara Williams - Minister to Families & Outreach
Originally from Richmond, VA, Sara Williams with her husband Mark moved to Johnston County, NC in 2003. Sara holds an undergraduate degree from Meredith College in Social Work and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from East Carolina University. She is currently working to finish her Masters of Divinity from The Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond. Sara has worked in various positions serving children and families through her work with Social Services, YMCA, and Johnston County Schools. Sara and her husband Mark most recently served as missionaries to South Africa through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. They have two children, Elijah and Hannah.
Kathryn Wise - Minister Music
Kathryn Wise is a graduate of Meredith College where she received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music with a concentration in Voice. She has over 10 years experience as a choir director and has led adult choirs, children’s choirs and handbell choirs. Kathryn is from Erwin, NC where she resides with her husband, Jesse, and two children, Jon Russell and Allison, and their beloved golden retriever, Shiloh. Kathryn also teaches private piano and voice lessons in her home studio.
Mary Sue Godwin - Accompanist
Mary Sue Godwin is a graduate of Peace and Meredith College where she double majord in music and sociology. She and her husband, Locke, are lifetime members of First Baptist Church. They have three children and two grandchildren. Mary Sue has served as accompanist for the past 30 years.
Angela Jones - Administrative Assistant
Angela Jones attended Johnston Community College and UNC School of Banking. She worked in banking for 12 years prior to coming to First Baptist. She and her husband, Bo, have four children and 2 grandchildren. Angela has worked for the church for the past 15 years. She also teaches Sunday school, Children’s Church and children’s Bible classes.
